catch it, clean it, cook it

A break in the hills

Hillside break
When you know you have a big day in the hills often we will pack the Trangia. A great little compact cooker. It runs on metho. Around lunch in the heat of the day you can stop at a vantage point, relax in the shade and cook something simple up or have a brew and just take in the surroundings.
Mates have used these little units on two week stints in the New Zealand Alps and rave about them. They don’t boil water as fast as gas powered units but are economical to run, tough, and pretty cheap to buy.
