catch it, clean it, cook it

Getting close with Sambar deer

A couple of images from a very memorable time in the bush.

Andy and I stalked in a gully we knew there was an active stag in.

15 minutes later i see a bush getting flogged. A quick look through the binoculars reveals a young stag with plenty of future growing to do. He was doing his best to polish his antlers on some native shrubbery.

I dropped the rifle and grabbed the camera and snapped some great images and video’s as the small family group fed past me at about 4m – A moment i will never forget.

Sambar are such beautiful deer
